The person, I, is a phenomenon in the form of an intermittent experience. “Understanding the Source” does not and cannot exist other than as a concept associated with “I”. Replace the word Source with, God, Awareness, Consciousness, Emptiness, Stillness, Oneness, Nothingness, Tao, Brahman, Dharmakaya, Absolute, Divine, Infinite, Unmanifest, That, or This and it applies equally.

Some concepts are a reflection of reality. Some concepts do not reflect reality and are empty. The concept that I and Source are “not two” reflects reality. The concept that I must connect with Source or go back to the Source does not reflect truth; however it can be useful to propel the mind in its search for spiritual freedom for a period of time. For mature spiritual seekers the moment that the Source is Realized in direct experience the moment of trashing the concept of Source has also arrived.

You make it sound like spirituality is totally useless.

That is relative. It can be useful for mental or emotional entertainment. As regards to spiritual seeking and release from unnecessary suffering, spirituality is useful only while Maya is active. That is: while the perception and conception of the separation between I and Source is in force.

When that conceptual separation, its associated belief and emotional charge of self-identification dissolves there is no spirituality to consider—we call that Self-Realization—upon which event the concept of I and the concept of Source become empty of meaning.

There is only Spirit, which has always been the case. The only difference is that there is no longer an imagination otherwise. We become normal and natural without a need of concepts of self or concepts of divinity.

Normal people do not want or need Source. Normal people want and need truth, kindness and beauty. Those three qualities are the Source’s first step into manifestation. From that trinity all else arises: universes, galaxies, concepts of all kinds, spiritual teachings and paths, levels of consciousness, dimensions, technologies—like a cascade.
